Frederic Malle, Perfume Documentary, The Best Scented Body Oils and Your Body Smell Map

It's not Monday, but I missed the muse. This weeks Monday Muse Recommendations is a special perfume edition because I‘ve finally signed off the final two scents for my brand and I’m feeling pretty good about it. Like to actually wash with my own products and they are hitting the mark is very emotional.

Scent is everything right now. I’ve been thinking about how we carry it, where we apply it, and how it interacts with our own unique body chemistry and heat. The same oil smells different on your wrist than behind your knees. You have a personal body smell map and learning how to scent it is both art and a foreplay.

My Monday Muse is Estée Lauder. In the 1950s, during an attempted sales trip at the upscale Galeries Lafayette in Paris, the buyers wouldn’t give her the time of day. So she “accidentally” dropped a bottle of bath oil on the floor. The entire department store filled with scent. Women came rushing. The buyers had to make an order. Listen to her life story here.

After the paywall, you’ll find a bunch of links to restaurants, books, podcasts. Also documentaries. I also reveal all the perfumes I'm into and where on my body I place my scents.
